This false-branding of the radical synthesis is an example of the Socratic Method, which suggests that the Yippie(!) organizers simply took the oligarchic philosophy of their professors and pushed it into
the minds of the aboriginal-leaning hippies--with the help of drugs, especially LSD!
This picture shows Abbie Hoffman at a Yippie meeting at Studio 10, #10 Bleecker Street, NYC. The Yippie HQ, #9 Bleecker, is about to be closed for the benefit of real estate interests by the city government. As it happens, the final Yippie leader, 60+ yr old Dana Beal, will soon be released from prison on (voluminous) marijuana charges. Time will tell if he can stay "clean."
The FaceBook group where this conversation comes from promotes Dana Beal's release and attempted to save the Yippie(!) HQ, #9 Bleecker. Most of the current actors are unfamiliar to me, but not the principles, whom I know very well. The group experiences excessive censorship (while complaining about government repression) suggesting a neo-platonic base, which fits the hegelian synthesis. We suddenly find neo-platonism everywhere, especially in the Christian shift from the "living Christ" of the gospel to the ritualized "Holy Trinity" of Constantine's Nicene (that sounds to critics like cannibalism). More important to this group is neo-platonism in Judaism, as the core of this group is Jewish-descent and follows or parallels many influential Leftist American Jews such as Emma Goldman and the Rosenbergs. A question I have, "is neo-platonism the direction of the Reformed Jew?" This may explain Jewish success in the New World, as Jews have so successfully leveraged academic education such as in law, medicine, and civil service to become the dominant culture of NYC, and with it, the NYC underground. Plato, of course, cemented his and Socrates' Academy as the Western Civilization information system. If so, then the censorship is easily explainable: Plato invented it.
